On Saturday, July 6, 2025, around 5: 27 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 400 block of 20th Avenue in reference to a welfare check. Responding officers discovered a female (later identified as Mozelle Barbee, 53) deceased from a gunshot wound.

The Columbus Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Timothy Thomas Reeves, 20, who is currently wanted on multiple charges. Reeves is described as a white male, approximately 5’3” tall, weighing 125 lbs, with tattoos on his face and body.

A joint investigation between the Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has led to federal charges against two individuals involved in drug trafficking in the Columbus area.

A Columbus man at the center of a nationwide fraud operation has been sentenced to prison following an investigation that began several years ago and targeted one of the city’s largest check fraud schemes to date.
