The Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit joined forces with federal, state, and local partners during ‘Operation No Escape’, a six-week fugitive apprehension initiative that resulted in 177 arrests across Georgia.

On Monday, September 22, 2025, at approximately 6:43 p.m., Patrol Officers responded to the 1800 block of Susan Lane in reference to reports of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located several shell casings in the roadway but no victims.

***UPDATE*** Since the September 5, 2025, shooting on Bay Avenue, five suspects have been arrested. The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, Fugitive Unit, Real Time Crime Center, and the Phenix City Police Department all assisted in the following arrests.

The Columbus Police Department has made several arrests connected to a series of stolen vehicles and entering auto cases across the city. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 2:43 a.m., Patrol officers received a notification about a stolen vehicle that had been used in numerous entering autos and thefts.
