The Columbus Police Department has made several arrests connected to a series of stolen vehicles and entering auto cases across the city. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 2:43 a.m., Patrol officers received a notification about a stolen vehicle that had been used in numerous entering autos and thefts.

Three people are facing multiple charges after an investigation by the Columbus Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit uncovered fraudulent activity, drugs, and a stolen firearm.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Bay Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim (later identified as Kalielah Davis, 18) suffering from a gunshot wound.

On September 2, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 3100 block of Victory Drive (Budgetel) after a newborn baby was discovered in a dumpster.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 5000 block of Steam Mill Road (Shirley B. Winston Park) in reference to a shooting.

On September 2, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., a newborn baby boy was discovered in a dumpster behind the Budgetel in the 3100 block of Victory Drive. He was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he remains in the NICU. Our Special Victims Unit is handling the investigation.

On August 29, 2025, at approximately 3:08 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 1700 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in reference to a shooting.

On September 3, 2025, at approximately 6:16 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 1600 block of Northside Industrial Blvd. In reference to shots being fired.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted an underage Tobacco/Vape Operation. As a result of the operation, seven individuals were arrested for selling tobacco or vape products to persons under the age of 21.
