On December 5, 2024 at 1:18 a.m., Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 7300 block of Sorrel Court in reference to a shooting. Responding officers discovered a Black male (later identified as Sonny Chambers) deceased from gunshot wounds.

Homicide by Vehicle Arrest

On November 11, 2024 at 4:33 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the area of Macon Road and Reese Road in reference to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a moped. The moped operator, later identified as Edith Opry, 57, was transported to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

One Killed, Another Injured in Canaan Drive Shooting

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024 around 12:35am, Columbus Police Officers responded to the 8300 block of Canaan Drive concerning a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two people with gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and determined that one of the victims (later identified as J’Mauri Taylor, 18) was deceased.

Man Arrested for Kidnapping, Outstanding Warrants

The investigation began following reports of an altercation at a residence located in the 1200 block of Alta Vista Road.
