Southeast Sled Hockey League Championship Weekend

Columbus Ice Rink Welcomes Its First-Ever Sled Hockey Event

June 12–14 | Columbus Ice Rink

The Columbus Ice Rink is proud to welcome the Southeast Sled Hockey League Championship Weekend to Columbus, Georgia, for the rink’s first-ever sled hockey event.

The championship weekend will bring five teams from across the Southeast to Columbus, showcasing the growing sport of sled hockey and introducing many local fans to the game for the very first time.

Admission is free for spectators.

About the Event

Sled hockey, also known as para ice hockey, is an official Paralympic sport designed for athletes with physical disabilities using specially designed sleds on the ice. The sport combines speed, skill, teamwork, and competitive hockey in an exciting and inspiring format.

As sled hockey continues to grow throughout the Southeast, organizers are also looking to expand the sport in Georgia and potentially establish a future home for sled hockey within the state.

During the weekend, guests will have the opportunity to watch teams compete, learn more about adaptive sports, and experience sled hockey firsthand during a free community session.

Five teams from across the Southeast will compete in Columbus:

  • Space Coast Blast - Florida
  • Queen City - Charlotte, NC
  • Orlando Sled Bears - Orlando, FL
