Recreation Centers

The Recreation Centers operated by Columbus Georgia Parks & Recreation serve as vibrant community hubs offering a wide range of programs and services for residents of all ages. These centers provide safe, inclusive spaces for fitness, sports, arts, education, and social activities. With amenities such as gymnasiums, meeting rooms, fitness equipment, and youth programming, the centers support healthy lifestyles, personal development, and community connection throughout Columbus.

The Columbus Boxing Gym is located at Haygood Gym, 602 11th Ave. Building B, Columbus, GA 31901.  Girls and Boys 8 years old and up can join.  Competition Training and Weight Training Available. Physicals are required for all those participating in competition. For more information, contact Rick Carrillo (706) 225 - 4130.

Fees:
Adults: $20.00/ mo Membership; 35.00/ yr Insurance (renews in Jan.)
Kids, aged 8-17: $20.00/ mo Membership; $25.00/ yr Insurance.
Competition, all ages: $95.00/ yr

Gym Rules

  • We must work as a TEAM
  • Respect and listen to Coaches
  • Respect each other
  • No hats, caps, bandanas, 
  • No cursing (including music)
  • No stealing
  • Do not use other boxer's equipment without asking
  • No street clothes while boxing
  • Put equipment back when finished
  • Keep gym clean
  • No food or drinks in weight room area
  • Take care of equipment
  • Equipment or clothing left in the locker room for more than 30 days will become property of the Blazers Boxing Club
  • You must train five days a week for six weeks
  • Boxers who compete on the Blazers Boxing Team must train five days a week after completing training session in order to compete
  • United States Amateur Boxing passport booklets must remain at Haygood Gym 
  • No jumping on ring ropes
  • No visitors allowed on the floor beyond the red tape
