Message from the YAC President

I am Gene Yoon, currently a senior at Columbus High School. I have the honor of serving as the president of the Columbus Youth Advisory Council. I believe it is hard to underestimate the importance of this organization and its mission. My vision for the Youth Advisory Council is to create an environment to put youth advocacy on a high pedestal and allow young leaders to initiate change with the merit of our own unique experiences and perspectives. There are many issues that haunt teens these days and we are the only ones who can identify them, articulate the impacts on us, and act upon them to improve them. Leading this crucial organization in our community with all the support and resources from the city, I am deeply committed to advocating for youth leadership and supporting the teens in our community.
