CPD Requests Public Assistance in Identifying an Individual

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a female
subject who may have been a witness to a recent crime. Her identity is currently unknown, and investigators would like
to speak with her as part of an ongoing investigation.

Holly Avenue Murder Investigation

On Sunday, September 9, 2024, at 7:43 p.m., Columbus Police officers received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the
4600 block of Holly Avenue. Upon arrival, responding Patrol officers located a Hispanic male who had been shot.

Trestlewood Drive Death Investigation

 Monday, September 2, 2024

On Monday, September 2, 2024 at 6:24 p.m., Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 6200 block of Trestlewood
Drive in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male (later identified as Marcus McLeod, 38) lying
on the floor, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police Investigate Deadly Shooting on Miller Road

 Monday, September 2, 2024

On Monday, September 2, 2024 at 2:22 a.m., Columbus Police officers responded to the 5500 block of Miller Road in
reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male (later identified as Brody Birks, 34) suffering from a
gunshot wound. EMS transported Birks to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he succumbed to his injuries.
